The Auger Division specializes in Augered Cast-In-Place (ACIP) grout piles ranging in diameter from 12 inches to 30 inches with ground depths of up to 95 feet of penetration. ACIP piles begin by digging into the ground with a specialized auger bit. As the bit penetrates the ground, the substrate is forced up and out of the resulting drilled-shaft by the rotating motion of the auger. When the desired depth is reached the auger is raised out of the hole while the grout mixture of sand + cement + water + additives, is simultaneously pumped into the auger hole. Pre-fabricated steel rebar cages are immediately lowered into the grouted hole and upon curing the ACIP is complete.

Over the last 50 years, ACIP has proven to be the pile of choice for installations that require minimum ground vibration, and/or disturbance of the immediate area. The SFI Auger Division has earned a reputation in the foundation industry of proving design-build ACIP services, competitive pricing, and excellent customer service.
